Get rid of them doors and "who need a hood anyway"? Gonna be auctioned for a milli, watch, some Sheik from Saudi is gonna cop it. Enjoy my peoples.

Fashion, Music, Dolls
Apparently 'Barbie' is definitely making a comeback!
I have been seeing it at Fashion Weeks - at LGFW in Toronto this spring you could get into a booth and have your picture snapped next to a real-life Ken model. (ugh!)
Judging by my reaction, you might realize that I wasn't the biggest Barbie fan..
Yes, I did have one or two, but that's just cause I am a commie-girl (as my husband likes to jocking-ly call me!). I spent my early childhood in Bulgaria, was born before '89 (for those of you who don't know, that was before the fall of the Berlin wall), and was very lucky to have had a father who travelled around the world and brought me cool things! (I was apparently the only baby back in '85 who had Pampers on and the nurses had no idea how to change me during my monthly check-ups. I find that funny now!)
Back to Barbies and dolls...It was the coolest thing when I got my "Preggers Barbie" - the only thing that turned me off (and put an end to my fascination with dolls), was the fact that you pretty much had to snap her in half at the waist to get that baby out. I wonder if that's the reason why I don't want any babies now, hmm?!
Anywayz..back to my original thought! Again..
As much as Barbie encompasses the kinda chick I don't want to be (kinda high-maintanance), I am loving Santigold's doll in the new Beastie Boys "Don't play no game". And in true summer fashion trends (I've been reporting on my obsession with knuckle-rings on the 'Fashionably Present' blog) she is rocking the bling rings and pairing it with matching gold-painted nails! Don't even get me going on the cat-eye!! Briliant!
Did you see the boys' orange jumpsuits?! Definitely not looking like they be sitting behind bars! (Seriously though!)

Kenny Powers Appointed MFCEO of K-Swiss
In the new campaign from K-Swiss, Kenny Powers makes it his mission as CEO to change the sports world from being “so safe and lame ass” to “being more gonzo” by any means necessary. He retools senior management, enlisting a wide range of elite and entertaining professional athletes including: Kansas City Chiefs’ Quarterback Matt Cassel as chief marketing officer, San Francisco 49ers Linebacker Patrick Willis as the vice president of carnage, America’s Toughest Trainer and wellness coach Jillian Michaels as director of community outreach, U.S. 50k record holder Josh Cox as chief super long distance runner officer, and wrestling superstar Rey Mysterio as director of security. The campaign also features the return of former MMA World Champion Urijah Faber as the chief operating officer, and MMA fighter and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones heading up human resources. What are your thoughts on this new move?
Big Shout to Hypebeast for the quote and clip

Gasface Presents: New York Minute Ep.6 (Fast Life)
Graffiti, Artists, Bans (?)
In recent weeks, Toronto has been buzzing with a slightly disturbing (at least in my eyes) campaign - getting rid of the graffiti in the streets!
They say it makes the city look ugly, but those who do, don't quite understand the idea behind this Art. It's a self-expression of the surrounding of the anonymous artist behind the piece.
Let's face it - if it wasn't for Toronto's graffiti pieces seen in back allies and little streets Downtown, the city just wouldn't be as 'cool'. We, personally, have friends who come visit and spend a whole day shooting numerous walls across town!
Anyhow, when art is art it should be appreciated.
Enter Tanina Jackson, who's painting have created a viral boom, not only shows amazing artistic skills but manages to push them through mixing in a little (a lot) bit of Fashion in there.
The Arizona-based artist's latest collection - Babe and Butter - is rep'd by a series of pretty catching illustrations printed on clothes, bags, accessories, shoes, etc. All in all the collection represents the power of the well-dressed woman, who is proud of her wardrobe and style and ain't afraid to flaunt it.
Check it out:
I am vigorously searching for her pieces online! Anyone come across one - be sure to e-mail me!

SUPRA Presents: Go Skateboarding Day NYC
I hope all of my skate peeps got out on the most magnificent day of the year and pushed against all limitations that society sets on us skateboarders and hit the streets to cause some serious mayhem. The Supra team was no exception, Chad Muska, TK, Lizard King and Spencer Hamilton join thousands in New York City on Go Skateboarding Day. The edit follows the boys throughout the city as they mash every spot! Enjoy

Cottage Times
I'm back!
Two weeks of VaCa are over, enjoying my last free Sunday and taking the time to manage the 2 blogs that I committed to. That's right - two! I started Fashionably Present as a way to keep focused on my fashion interests! I am remaining strictly personal in this one! More fun this way.
I mentioned we had a visitor in my previous post. She ended up staying with us for 2 weeks, before taking off back to Europe at 5AM yesterday morning. Myriam (or Merjam, as we like to call her) got lucky with scheduling her trip to Toronto this year (it's her second visit), as we took off to Quebec for some much needed cottage time!
After an 8-hour ride and many stops (the not-so-little) bulldog just had to take bathroom breaks, we arrived in the depths of Quebec somewhere and set off on a quest to celebrate JD's Birthday with a Big Bash - BBQ, drinks, hammaks, music, amps, boats, paddle boarding and..lots of rain!
Ahh, the joys of clean air and no hangover! (hah!)
Hoping to get back for some more!

Polished Flow: Action Bronson "Brunch"
I knew Bronson was sick but this video is on another level. Definitely one of the craziest clips I've seen in a quick minute, a must see for all of the psychos out there. Absolutely insane! Cop the Dr.Lecter album here from ma man Action.

Time to unwind
I won't even try to make any excuses! I've been busy - let's leave it at that.
However, Summer is here - it officially struck yesterday - and with that came 2 weeks of well-deserved break time.
On Saturday we hit up the Beaches' Rib Fest which takes place annually at Woodbine Park and aside from the abundance of celebratory drinks - we have a visitor from good ol' VIE staying with us - we were able to sample some very delicious Southern ribs (once again, no offence to all you non-meat eaters!).
'Southern Style'
'Cornbread and beans are good, but bones are better!'
The Beast was there!
'Something's brewering up there! And it ain't a beer!'
'Sometimes a man needs to carry/drag his woman around'
'He's a true ladies man'
'Smile till I dig in my bag'
'The Visitor'
'Vintage moment with the MAN'
Montreal trip in 2 days. But first a Kensington Stop.
See ya then!

LRG Presents: Artist Driven - Pose and Witnes
LRG's 'Artist Driven' is knocking out (yet another!) amazing contribution to the culture that I love so dearly, by following the utmost talented Pose & Witnes on one of their brick wall tour stops. It happens to be at the world renowned Hawleywoods Barbershop in Southern California and their process is an immaculate perfection piece. Hope y'all enjoy the clip and 'score' as much as I did. Let's keep the LRG dream alive. Out!
